Accudyne Systems, Inc. designed and built this large-scale rotary assembly cell to make the window, or light, for installation in or beside a residential door.
The core of this machine is an 18-foot diameter, six-station, rotary-index table which interfaces with two operators, three robots, and a pneumatic clamp station. The table rotates 60 degrees in 4 seconds and stops within 0.020 inches repeatability at the periphery of the table. After the table indexes, all stations are activated and monitored by a central PLC. Communication between all stations is done with DeviceNet. In addition, the central processor communicates with local processors at three of the stations.
