| Accudyne Systems, Inc. developed unique grooving and cutting machines for structural foam contouring. These machines have enabled the fabrication of extremely large composite parts such as intermodal freight containers, railcar bodies, and marine pilings.
In this program, equipment was developed to groove
foam blocks up to 8 feet wide, 10 inches thick, and
of unlimited length. Up to 96 circumferential grooves
were simultaneously and automatically made in the blocks.
