Accudyne Systems, Inc. designed and built the electrical and mechanical systems for CargoLifter's CL75AC, an air crane capable of lifting and transporting 75 tons. As-built systems were integrated into the airframe onsite in Brand, Germany.

This project had special challenges as it involved engineering many complex systems and then integrating them at a remote location. Here are some of Accudyne's accomplishments:

  • We engineered the ground interface system to
withstand a hard impact of 240,000 pounds with
        less than a 2.0g load.
  • We developed and refined the CL75AC's
ballast system consisting of 4 ballast tanks, 2 trim
tanks, and all of the plumbing to handle over
100 tons of fresh or salt water.
  • We designed and installed the cover to protect the
load frame components from the elements using the     innovative FREELOAD-R rolling tarp system     pioneered by the Chameleon company.
  • We designed and installed the power system for
        the CL75AC.
  • We designed and installed the control system for
        the load frame.
  • We developed and programmed the software to run
and monitor all load frame systems.
