Accudyne Systems, Inc. has long history of process development and control for thermoplastic composite materials and continues to be actively involved in the development of processing and equipment for thermoplastic composites. Examples of current and past development work include:

  • Design, fabrication, and installation of thermoplastic
processing equipment for the manufacture of
M29E3 composite SABOT rounds for Alliant
        Techsystems.
  • In situ placement of flat laminates and cylinders
from thermoplastic tape for NASA using commercial
placement equipment at Cincinnati Machine. PEEK,
PETI-5, and PIXA-M tapes are being used.
  • A Dual Use (DUAP) Army-funded process
development program to develop a high through-put
machine to fabricate thermoplastic laminates by
        induction heating.
  • Design, fabrication, and installation of a machine to
apply fiberglass tape to the end of a foam block.
This equipment is used by True North Composites
to fabricate insulated composite rail cars using
        resin-infusion molding technology.
  • Development and design of a thermoplastic tape line
        for Cytec Fiberite.
