We have designed, built and installed high-speed wind-ups for a major lithium foil manufacturer. These machines are closed-loop controlled with an extruder to match processing speeds and conditions. Active tension control and edge alignment are accomplished through on-line process sensors. The control system consists of a PLC running LabView software. Finished packages of either laminated or unlaminated foils are produced at up to six times previous industry rates.

Accudyne has designed also and built web processing heads for a unique Mylar™ tube lamination process that simultaneously slits, heats, and accurately dispenses material. To accomplish this, we have developed an integrated web process where critical variables from the payoff creels to the lamination point are controlled. Due to the large range of products this process must accommodate, many of these variables are adjustable over large ranges.
